Breath of Shame!

"Bad breath is caused by oral bacteria that live in the mouth, feeding on residues and forming plaque." hehehe... Bad breath is a common health problem. It can be embarassing, too.
In most cases, those with bad breath are not aware they have this problem. Even their best friend and family members lack the courage to tell them about it for fear it would embarrass them.
To personally check if you have bad breath, lick the back of your hand, and smell the saliva. If it smells bad, then you have bad breath.
Bad breath may be caused by oral bacteria that live in the mouth, feeding on residues and forming plaque. They leave soft sticky deposits in the tongue and teeth. It may also be a result of cell decay.

CAUSES

Certain fats, particularly cheese, butter, whole milk, and other fatty meats that contain aromatic substances the body metabolizes and exhales are contributing factors. So are garlic, onions, coffee, and other spices. Some medicines for high blood pressure, diuretics, pain medications, and others can also bring about foul odor. Chronic conditions of the sinuses, mouth sores, stress, and hormonal disturbances may intensify bad breath, too. Tooth cavities and lung disorders, like bronchiectasis and emphysema, can also be sources.

GENERAL REMEDIES

* Increase water intake, especially for those taking medications. Drink one glass of water ery hour when awake.
* Brush teeth and tongue surface right after waking up and after every meal. Because the tongue is covered with microscopic hairlike projections that trap and harbor plaque food, brushing the surface will help minimize bad breath.
* Use baking soda toothpaste when saliva is too acidic. For gingivitis, one tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water as mouthwash is a good remedy.
* Use the right mouthwash. Look for one that contains zinc. Zinc inhibits the production of sulfur compounds that causes bad breath.
* Do not eat or handle garlic and onions. Handling garlic and onions during food preparation can cause foul odors. Aromatic substances in garlic and onions enter the body through the pores of the skin and into the bloodstream. It then gets released in the lungs and exhaled through the mouth and nose.

DIETARY MANAGEMENT

- Eat citrus fruits like oranges and calamansi, grapes, and other fruits high in citric acid. The acid of the fruits helps suppress the activity of some drugs taken. The tangry taste of the fruits helps freshen the mouth.
- Eat breakfast regularly. Drink water after having a cup of coffee, softdrinks, and alcohol to get rid of the residue that causes plaque in the tongue and teeth. Give the tongue a quick wipe with a handkerchief or apiece of gauge to remove the white coating.
- Chew parsley, celery, oregano leaves, and young quava leave once or twice a day. These herbs release pleasant aromatic substances into the lungs that regresh the breath all day long.
- Chew anise seeds after meals to freshen the mouth.
- Limit fatty foods but increase vegetables in the diet.
- Drink a cup of peppermint, ginger tea, orange, or calamansi juice between meals.

If the cause is medical, like tooth cavities, sinusitis, mouth sores, and lung disorders medical consultation and treatment are necessary to resolve the problem of bad breath.

5 Quick Steps to a New Job

Some people blame their qualifications. Some see the general scarcity of jobs as the main problem. To those who have many years of experience, the age appears to be the main barrier. There is no doubt that economy, market demand, qualification, experience, age and luck all play a part in making it easy or difficult for you in the job market. But unfortunately, what most people do not realise is that a set of completely different factors is more responsible for their long, inconclusive job search. To understand these factors, you have to first understand the hiring process.

Getting a job is like surviving a multi-round game of elimination, which begins with spotting job opportunities and ends at interviews. Some people do not use the right job search methods and thereby fail to even spot job opportunities. They get eliminated even before the real game begins. Some do see the job opportunities, but their weak and unacceptable resumes fail to open doors for interviews. Out of those who survive up to the interview stage, many bow out of the race because they fail to project their own value to the employers. Finally, the winner is someone who survives all through and proves to be the best among fellow survivors.

If you have been looking for anew job for quite some time and are in the mode of blaming lack of opportunities, education, experience, luck, age, etc. for your current situation, it is time you shift focus to the way you are playing the game. Specially, pay attention to the following five steps.

Play by the Rules
It was Albert Einstein who said: " You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else." Play by the following rules:
Rule of least effort: At every stage of your job search, ensure that employers spend least effort (and time) while dealing with you.
Rule of Needs and Means: Your success lies in understanding employer's needs and then showing that you have the means ( experience, education, skills) to satisfy those needs.
Rule of seeds: If you want something to happen, plant more seeds-make more attempts and be prepared that many of these attempts will not bring the desired results.
Rule of obsession: When you chase jobs that you are obsessed about, you are bound to succeed . Your obsession is your trump card.
Rule of perceived value: What matters is not what you think about yourself, but how mush value employers see in you.

Conduct Smart Job Search
If you ask 500 different persons how they got their jobs, you might see two interesting insights emerging from the replies. First, there are not just two or three methods of searching for a job. There are at least 10 different ways of finding a job. Second, not all methods are equally effective. For example, seeking help from your colleagues and friends can be one of the most productive ways of getting a job.
The smart job search is about knowing all the different methods of spotting job opportunities and then focusing on the ones that promise quicker results.

Prepare Compelling Resume
Once you spot a job opportunity, it boils down to how compelling is your resume. In the job market, your resume is like a brochure about your capabilities. And employers treat it the same way you treat the brochures you come across in your daily life. If your resume is neat, relevant, simple, solid, sharp, short and without mistakes, it can open doors for interviews and vice versa.

Send Impressive Cover Letters
An impressive cover letter accompanying a well-written resume can make a significant difference to your job prospects.
The purpose of a cover letter is to connect personally with a specific person on the other side and also to show how well positioned you are to meet and even exceed employer's needs. The cover letter is a critical document as it makes the first impression.

Be A Success At Interviews
If everything goes well, you will reach the final stage: The Interview. How you conduct yourself, not just during the interview, but also before and after it, decides your ultimate fate. If you prepare well, avoid well-known pitfalls and follow proven strategies, you will come out a winner.
Scores of highly capable, sincere and hard-working people stay stuck in their job or suffer unemployment just because they lack the skills to survive and play the hiring game. You need not be among them. If you learn the above five steps, you might fine it is after all not that difficult to get a new job.

increase your wealth

"Don't come to me asking for more money. Help me make more money so there will be more money for you." This brings us today's principle: If you want to increase your wealth, first increase your employer's or boss' wealth.

Have we increased our employer's? We should not think that because we are only paid so-and-so, we will limit our output. Let us move beyond our job descriptions and create new value for the company. Can you bring in more customers? Help lower costs? Organize files or improve systems? Enhance production efficiency or quality? Go the extra mile for customers?

But by far the best way to create a value for your company is to create value in yourself. What new skills do you need to help your company achieve its goals, which coincidentally will propel your way to the top?

For example, you might want to sharpen your skills. How is your English? Can you organize your ideas into a persuasive pitch? Or you may want to learn new computer skills, such as making powerpoint presentations will all those fancy animation effects. If you want to be a general manager but your background is manufacturing or marketing and thus need to brush up on financial management. If you are in Sales, you will surely need to invest in yourself as far as training, product knowledge and industry trends are concerned.

Another powerful way to contribute to your company is that you masters new language. If you are fluent in mandarin, you can help your boss communicate with customers, suppliers or partners in china. You can be just as an asset if you speak japanese, spanish, german or korean like a native. Some time ago I heard that call centers place a high premium on agents what can speak vietnamese. So consider a third language. It may be the "secret weapon" in your career arsenal the will open a lot of doors.

Time Management is another sought-after skill. "Careers are made or broken by the soft skills that make you able to handle a very large workload," says Merlin Mann, editor of the productivity blog 43 folders. One of my favorite motto is "Let time work for you." Do the most important things first. Know when are your peak hours, that is, when you are most productive, creative or alert. If you have subordinates, leverage their skills and experiences. A simple example: I have two tasks. One I have to do myself and the other I can delegate. So I talk to my staff who will do the second task, such as retrieving or analyzing information. While she is at it, I do the first task. That way, both tasks are being done at the same time.

Finally, always open to opportunities that will benefit your company. One time I was manning our booth in a trade show when a singaporean approached me and asked if our company would be interested in carrying his product line, plastic pallets. Our company was into a different line of plastics, but I know my boss is always on the lookout for new business partners. So instead of turning him away, I arranged for a meeting between him and my boss, the fruit of which was a distributorship agreement where we earn a fee for every pallet we sell.

Finale

I know it sounds harsh, but you are being paid to make your employer richer. After all, nobody goes into business and hire people to lose money. However, I will generate more opportunities for myself if I help my employer attain its financial goals. These opportunities can be in the form of bonuses or promotions.

Bit the real beneficiary is your resume. Even if you are working for a tight-fisted employer and feel that it is high time to work for someone else - hopefully, someone more generous - you will be armed with verifiable and quantifiable accomplishments. And that is a career wealth nobody can steal from you. (source:Nelson T. DY)

peanut butter ( mom's bestfriend knows best!)

"life will only come once, so make the most out of it. God did not give us all things to enjoy life, but life to enjoy all things"- this is the phrase that a good friend of mine always telling me. He told me a story about his past experience about "love", or shall i say "lust". i don't know if it is true or not, i don't care, the only matter for me is that i was amazed and entertained with his rated "r" storytelling.. And that tale goes like this:
10 years earlier, it was Saturday noon at their house his mom and his mom's best friend(mbf)were busy making peanut butter in the kitchen, while he is about to finish taking shower in the bathroom. His mom's best friend suddenly knock on the bathrooms door and telling him that she wants to pee and he then promptly open the door. As he exit from the bathroom his mom's best friend grab his thing and said "still a virgin?". He was shocked and speechless and quickly run to his bedroom. ( of course his mom does not know)

At the same day, at exactly 4 p.m., his mom asking a favor from him to deliver and give the 2 glass of peanut butter to the house of his mom's best friend. So, he went out and go to the mom's best friend house which is located a few blocks away from their house. When he arrive at the house, he buzz the gate and the mom's best friend responsively opened the door and ask him to push the gate and come inside. And so he entered the house and the mbf offered him a mango juice. He accepted the juice and begun to chat with the mbf. The mbf was wearing a long loose white see thru cotton t-shirt eagerly seated beside him. She grab his hand and putted it on her breast and said "have you ever touch a woman's breast?". And he touched it gently. the mbf said, " do you like it?". All of a sudden, a child cry in the room. The mbf stand quickly and go over to the baby and offered some milk (not a breast milk of course). When the cry stops the mbf went back to him and give a beer. She pulled him towards the maid's room and then they do it the sacred thing. After an hour he came back home and his mother ask him, "what took you so long?", he answered; i stopped by at my friend's house" then his mom says, "what friend? a boy or a girl?". "A boy mom!", he replied. Then, suddenly his mom yelled at him, "What? Are you a gay?","Why do you say so, mom?"he replied nervously with noticeable guilt. And his mom answered; "Because you've got a lot of "love bites" on your neck! how disgraced you are. Who's that boy? Tell me? Do I know him? From now on you are grounded. Go to your room and read some bible phrases.. .. .." . the end.
